Spirituality
Exploring the inner life, higher purpose, and spiritual growth in recovery

Spirituality, within the framework of recovery, refers to the awakening of awareness that life holds meaning beyond self-interest. It involves the development of conscience, purpose, and compassion as guiding forces in daily living. This section explores how spiritual understanding and practice can support psychological healing, strengthen motivation, and restore a sense of connection often lost through addiction. Here you’ll find reflections, teachings, and resources designed to help individuals explore their own relationship with the sacred—whether understood as higher power, inner presence, or divine order.

Manual of Doctrine and Faith

An Invitation to Explore the Spiritual Dimension of Recovery

This manual is written for those who sense that recovery involves more than abstaining from harmful behaviors; it involves awakening to meaning, purpose, and inner transformation. Rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, it returns to the essence of His message before the later theological evolution of doctrine. The focus is on the original spiritual principles of love, humility, forgiveness, and service as lived realities that foster personal growth and healing.
Developed as part of the Integrated Self-Realization framework, the manual presents a psychologically grounded understanding of faith—one that encourages honest reflection, moral development, and compassionate action. It invites readers to experience Jesus’ teachings as a living path of recovery and renewal rather than a system of belief to be accepted.

The Testament of Jesus

The Testament of Jesus is a clear and unified narrative of Jesus Christ’s life, ministry, death, and resurrection, skillfully combining the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) into a single, accessible account. Organized into twelve thematic chapters, from Jesus’ birth to His resurrection, each section uses descriptive titles and numbered verses for easy navigation (e.g., Baptism of Jesus 2:2-5), mirroring familiar Bible citations like “John 3:16.” Crafted for study, reflection, and teaching, this book draws from the World English Bible, a modern, public-domain translation, to present Jesus’ teachings and love in a concise yet comprehensive way. Ideal for believers, students, and teachers seeking a deeper understanding of Jesus’ mission.

Acts of the Apostles

The Acts of the Apostles is presented here as a companion volume to The Testament of Jesus, a harmony of the four Gospel accounts. Where The Testament of Jesus brings together the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus into one unified narrative, Acts continues the story; detailing the rise of the early Church, the spread of the Gospel, and the empowerment of Jesus’ followers through the Holy Spirit. This companion volume begins with a direct handoff from the Gospel of Luke. The author, traditionally understood to be Luke the physician and companion of Paul, clearly intended Acts to be a “Part II” to his earlier work. Where the Gospel of Luke ends with the ascension of Jesus, Acts begins with it; and from there, traces the fulfillment of Jesus’ commission to his disciples.
